U.S. ARMY PROMOTION

Tonight was a special Stated Meeting.

The lodge was called from labor to refreshment, then... friends and family were invited into the lodge room to observe Bro. David Lopez's Army promotion from Staff Sergeant (SSG) to Sergeant First Class (SFC).

The presiding Worshipful Master, Master Sergeant (MSG) Michael Schaefer, also a member of the U.S. Army read the official promotion orders.

Worshipful Brother Bill Wagner, Sergeant Major retired, gave the congratulatory speech and had the honor of "pinning" the rank on the new Senior Non-commissioned Officer.

Members of the military often are promtoed in front of their peers and subordinates at their place of work. 

It is however, the member's choice where the ceremony is conducted. 

This was the first documented military promotion to take place at Franklin Lodge No. 11.
